Chic Choc, Quebec
The Chic Choc Mountains in Quebec’s Parc de la Gaspesie offers the backcountry skier the most spectacular tours and descents to be had on the east coast. This venue hosts a wide variety of ski and snowboard terrain for the intermediate to advanced backcountry enthusiast. Depending on our clients needs and desires, this trip can be designed as a ski tour into backcountry huts with yo-yo skiing — day trips from comfortable small chalets or gîtes (inns).
Whatever the chosen accommodation, this trip is sure to include skill development in the following areas: avalanche terrain awareness, route finding, group management in the backcountry, transceiver use, and skiing in a variety of snow conditions.
This trip is recommended for those with strong intermediate to advanced resort ski/snowboard abilities, as well as four season camping skills. The expedition’s final objectives will be established after the make-up of the members has been determined.
